Life
Well, I was one of those people who couldn't get out of CHS fast enough. In retrospect, I think I was insecure and never quite felt like I fit in. Now I realize that is just part of being a teenager. . . or, maybe I really didn't fit in and I just tried too hard at times. :) I think it was difficult to be in the same small classes with the same people for 6+ years . . . with not much to do besides the few activities offered at the school to keep us busy. Now, however, I treasure the memories of high school and some of the antics we engaged in, and even though there are some things I would do differently if I had them to do over again, I wouldn't trade the experience as a whole for anything. Although I am not even close to the person I was in high school, I couldn't be who I am today without having spent all of that time with all of you.
My life now: I'm a litigation attorney in Dallas, where I've lived for 22 years. I am thinking it is time for a career change . . . as in "paper or plastic?" I have certainly put in my time and am in need of a break to just enjoy what is left of life. As for family, I don't have any children of my own, but have lots of nieces and nephews who keep me thorou...Expand for more
ghly entertained.
About the pictures I've posted . . . both of me are recent (2008), and one has my new beau in it. He's a doll and we're having a lot of fun. The other two are of my Chihuahua, Juan, who likes to dress up for Halloween. Can't you see by the look on his face how much he loves it? I still can't figure out why he chewed one of my favorite shoes as soon as I took the costumes off him. . . .
Well, if you are ever in Texas, give me a shout. . . . maybe I can freelance as a tourguide for a while. :-) I would be happy to hear from any of you. I get back to IL frequently to visit my family, so drop me a line if you're interested in having lunch or a beer next time I'm in town.
UPDATE: I have caught up with a few of you and it seems there is a lot of interest in a 30th reunion. After a couple glasses of Swamp Water at Mott's (thanks, Kenny!), I offered to compile an email list for use by the people who plan the reunion. With everyone's help, we have located about 40 people thus far, but if you are reading this message and haven't received a copy of the current email list, you are not yet on it. Please let me know if you would like to join . . . the consensus is to try to find as many people as possible!
