Life We've made it into our 50's... strange but so real... although much time has passed, it truly does seem like yesterday... okay not yesterday, but just a few years ago that we were in HS!!! Time does fly -- and not only when you are having fun!!! I lament that I've never attended college and my desire to become a teacher obviously hasn't been satisfied. Had a good career as secretary/executive assistant. That career wasn't too bad, but it wasn't that fulfilling either... however it did pay the bills!!! I stepped out of that career into a customer service rep's role which was the wrong move... it led to my being laid off from Big Blue. I was unemployed for two years and now work for the State of NC - Employment Security Commission. The best thing I can say about this job is no stress, about as secure as you can get these days and there is a "payday" each month!! I am happy to be employed. Imagine being 50+ and trying to decide if I should pursue my "dream" career (teacher) or go into the medical field? Surprising, because my "yuck" factor is pretty high.
