Judith's Story
Story of my life, lol. Here goes:
I graduated Eastern Kentucky University 1965. Started teaching in NA at St Mary's of the Knobs, 1966. Got married in January 1966.
Moved to Renton, WA (suburb of Seattle) in 1967. Taught school there and had 3 daughters and a son. Completed a fifth year of study at the University of Washington to obtain my lifetime WA teaching certificate. Attended the 1972 National Democratic Convention in Maimi Beach as a delegate from the state of WA. Divorced in 1974, moved back to NA.
Built a house in Edwardsville area where I lived for 33 years. Taught school in JCPS 1976 until 2003 when I retired. During that period of time I also coached and officiated various sports in IN and KY. In 1985 I received a MS in Education from IUS, securing my lifetime teaching certificate in KY.
My children graduated from Floyd Central HS. Lisa and Leslie still live in NA area. Louis lives in Richmond , KY with his wife Dawn. He has been in active, reserve, or National Guard military for 20 years having served in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. He is currently on active duty at Camp Atterbury. Lori now lives in Temecula, CA with her three children. She has been a nurse in the Navy or Navy Reserves fo...Expand for more
r nearly 20 years and is currently (as of June 4, 2010), deployed to Japan for 90 days. Upon her return she will again assume her duties as nurse at Camp Pendleton.
After I retired in 2003, I moved to Bartlett, TN (suburb of Memphis) where I lived with my daughter Lori for 3 yrs as she went through a very difficult divorced. I was providing child care for my 3 young grandchildren. The fourth year I had the children by myself during her deployment to Camp Pendleton in 2006-7. After returning to TN she decided to move the family to CA. I sold my Georgetowm home and went with them for nine months, until they were settled. I then left and settled in Auburndale, FL where I own a home and have resided since 2008. I also obtained my FL teaching certificate, but have not as yet used it.
In late May 2010, I again temporary moved back to CA to supervise Lori's kids, now all teenagers. I will be here until early September while she is deployed by the Navy to Japan. Then I will return to my home in FL. I enjoy playing golf and being retired (when not providing child care, lol). I enjoy reconnecting with classmates and friends who have been absent in my life during my travels. So reconnect and update me on your lives.
