Judith's Story

After HS graduation, attended Sioux City Barber College (where I met my husband Randy). Married June 1972, bought a barber shop in Avoca, Iowa Feb. 1973. Randy and I worked together until 1985, when he went to work for the State of Iowa DOT. He retired October 2008 due to early onset Alzheimers, and passed away in 2013. I'm still working full-time at "Judy's Barber Shop" here in Avoca and loving my job!
3 Children--MICHAEL (born 1976), the computer geek,still a bachelor and loving it. TENA (born 1979), who works for DHS, married with 5 children. Jessica (born 1986), teaches 4th grade in Des Moines, still single.
I am so fortunate that all my children live in Iowa!
I am an 11 year survivor of breast cancer, and I am high on life! I love playing bridge with frien...Expand for more
ds, and give as much time as I can to my community and church. I still love to dance, and only wish teenagers of today had a place like the "Playhouse" to dance and socialize on Saturday nights--we were really very lucky to grow up in a community like Clark!
I've been taking some trips, something Randy and I planned on doing when we retired. So, one of my kids generally goes with me. I've made several trips to Chicago, visiting Becky (Beving) Pfaff and her husband John. Lots of laughs, and lots of love! Best trip ever? NYC to see the Royals win the World Series!

I had such a good time at our CLASS REUNION IN 2010--many thanks to Pam for that! Hope we can continue to get together at least every 5 years!
