Judith's Story

Life Hi! I went to Butler University for 4 years in Indianapolis where I majored in drama, music and dance, then moved back to Buffalo where I was an actress for several years; married, divorced; moved to NYC (FINALLY!) in 1981 - where I had wanted to be since I was 12 yrs old. In my 23 years in NYC I had a ton of different jobs - acting, modeling, market research, many customer service jobs in the entertainment field - too many to mention right now. I lived a zillion different places in Manhattan. Then....my life really changed. I met the most incredible man I have ever known/will ever know. We were together for over 18 wonderful years until he passed away 06/2003. It was the most devastating event in my life. He was & always will be my best friend and soul mate. I used to scoff at that term (soul mate) feeling it was an overused impossibility and said I would never use that phrase about ANY one. But that was before I met him. That's all I can say about that. Except maybe: never say never. I left a house full of furniture & almost everything else I owned & moved out to the 'boondocks' in Michigan 06/2004 to stay with my Sister until I could get back on my feet. I'm living with a roommate (because very few people here can afford to live alone - low wages and high rent do not go hand-in-hand.) I basically just have my books, photos, music, videos, clothes - not much else. I still have my Mom's 1950's Singer sewing machine - it's so cool. I'm working in retail at present. It's an ok job, considering the choice of employment in this resort town is very limited. This PC is my lifeline to the 'real' world - it is my escape & my beloved addiction! I'm starting my life from scratch - very strange to be doing so at this age! The economy & job market here are so drastically different from NYC that I am STILL going thru culture shock even after 17 years! (I find it hard to grasp that I have been here that long already. Time goes whizzing by when we get older, doesn't it?) In short - life at present (including the weather!) is not my cup of tea, to say the least. But here I am, struggling, and praying I can move back to NYC someday - I miss it te...Expand for more
rribly, every single day. NYC will ALWAYS be 'home' to me. The one nice thing about being here is I am only a few hours drive from our cabin in Canada which is my favorite place on the planet. (yup - love it even more than Manhattan! & that is almost hard for me to believe!) I am a very liberal, progressive, democrat; online activist for animal & human rights & the environment; I'm a vegan, love gardening, cooking/baking, the arts, national parks, travel, my PC, MSNBC especially Rachel Maddow, & donating to causes that are important to me. I look forward with great anticipation to the rest of the Biden/Harris administration, that is IF we can get rid of the filibuster - otherwise NOTHING is going to get done for Americans because the GQP doesn't believe in democracy anymore. (I am not exaggerating - they truly DO NOT!!) I am on this site hoping to find some 'old friends.' Hope to hear from you. I also hope you've been vaccinated!!! I wish you a happy 2021. Love Jude. School I was so awkward & strange & shy & inhibited in High School that I would not be surprised if you have no idea who I was/am. Well.....I still am in some ways. It's weird to be that way & yet feel 'at home' on the stage or infront of a camera. But I think acting/modeling was a way of escaping & also discovering the multiple-me's, as it were. In the same way that writing has always been an escape & journey of self-discovery. My craziest school memory is way too embarrassing for me to recount here - EVEN NOW!! If you write to me - maybe I'll tell you. The teacher that inspired me the most is without a doubt - Mr. Vehar. If I could do it all over again? - ooh! uh.....No! It was hard enough for me the first time!! When you're young you are so sure you have it all figured out - you don't realize that you know next to nothing! And at the same time - you are going thru such emotional upheavals - so many mood swings - confusion. It is a very difficult thing to be a teenager! I would not like to repeat that time at all - even if it was to make it 'better' somehow. Anyway, you cannot repeat the past - we just have to go on & live with the past & do the best we can in the present.

Spring algorithm: lots of rain + large dose of sunshine = THIS! 🥰
this article originally caught my attention because of the photo above the article title which I thought might be of one of the remnants of buildings among the ruins on the grounds of the former Delaware Mine in the Keweena
I heard on the news that it’s Spring. 😳 Really? Did anyone tell Mommy Nature that in northern Michigan?
