Judith's Story
I would love to share some of the recent happenings, but situations in my life keep changing at a fast and furious pace. It seems that I'm spending more time packing to go somewhere than I am spending time doing anything else. <My writing is on hold, my Yamaha grand piano sits silently in the corner of my livingroom, and viola lessons have fallen by the wayside. I'm trying to find a writing class and string group to get back on track. In the meantime, I'm getting ready to leave for Ann Arbor, Michigan. I can't believe that at my age I'm seriously involved with an old friend of mine from Flint, Michigan. We dated back in the '60's and met up again a little over a year ago. Life is good!
Other than music and writing, I spend a great deal of time reading. I seem to go from one book to the next. (I am forever grateful to my first grade reading teacher.) Speaking of teaching, I taught public school music for ...Expand for more
35-years before retirement, and also directed summer musicals for 29 of those years. Although I no longer have the stamina to keep up with a full day of teaching, I do miss working with kids. Well, that's it for now. Back to my packing.
November, 2011 - Not much has changed since my last entry. I'm still traveling with my friend Jerry from Ann Arbor, Michigan. We've become real snow birds. Well, at least during the months of January and March. I'm not quite sure why I come back to Minnesota in February. I haven't figured that out yet. Music and writing are still high on my list, and I always have a book in hand. I'm hoping to finish my genealogy research and family memoir while I still have the energy. Sometimes I think I'm busier in retirement than I was when I was teaching. But then, I've always liked being busy. Something new has been added to my life - a great-granddaughter. A joyful addition indeed!
