Judy's Story
Life
After high school, I married Joel Jansen in 1980 and we had a son, Bradley, in 1984. We divorced in 1985. I then met Jack Rust in 1988. Jack and I were married in 1989 and I moved to Santa Rosa, California. My second son, Daniel, was born in 1990 and my third son, Brian, was born in 1993. I have owned and operated my own medical transcription business since 1990. I home-schooled my boys all the way through high school and loved it. My hobbies are quilting and photography. My three sons all married 3 amazing young women that I love dearly. In addition, I have 2 beautiful granddaughters and 1 handsome grandson. Life is good.
School
I have many fond memories (and some painful memories as well) of my childhood and elementary school days at Chawanakee. I enjoyed high school, but certainly would never want to do it again. I went to my 10-year high school reunion, but found that the people I enjoyed the most were the ones that went to Chawanakee elementary and grew up with at Powerhouse #3/Redinger Lake. I would like to have a reunion with those people. Not just the ones that graduated the same year as I did, but all of the kids that lived there during the years my...Expand for more
family lived there (1969-1976) . THAT would be fun!
Workplace
My first job after high school graduation was at Fronk's Mountain Drilling in Prather, where I worked as a bookkeeper/secretary for about a year. Then I went to work at Edmond's Jewelers and moved to Fresno. I hated that job and only worked there for about five months. Then I went to work at Style-Line Structures, where I worked as a bookkeeper/secretary for about 2 1/2 years. I left that job and went to work at Valley Nephrology Medical Group, where I learned medical transcription, as well as medical insurance billing. I worked at this office for 5 years. I was then hired by Valley Children's Hospital to work in the Genetics Department, where I was an administrative assistant to the geneticist and genetic counselors. I loved my job, but after 2 1/2 years I moved to Santa Rosa to be married. In Santa Rosa I decided to start my own medical transcription business and have been running a successful business since. I have seven wonderful women who work for me full-time and part-time and I work part-time. The most satisfying aspect of work for me is the relationships I have built with the people I work with.
