Judy's Story
Life
Living in Gainesville, Georgia and happily married for 14 years to Larry. I have 5 children; Jessica, age 26 and Assistant Director of Campus Activities at The College of New Jersey. Jessica was married in Dec. of 2006 and is living in Philadelphia, PA. My next daughter, Catherine, is age 12 and in 7th grade. Next is Sam, age 10 and in 4th grade. Then there's Hannah, age 7 and in 2nd grade. Lastly, Stephen, age 5 and in pre-school. I know, I'm crazy! Hannah and Stephen are adopted from Russia. Traveling to Russia 4 times in 3 years was a fascinating experience. Makes you grateful for what you have.
I guess being an only child made me determined not to pass the curse on to another only child. It only took me how many years (?) to realize that it's not all about me! I am a part-time attorney with a practice limited to adoption law. My husband practices law as well. We met in law school. My father, Marvin, passed away in February of 2006. My mother, Nellie, passed away in 1996, while I was pregnant with Catherine.
We travel a lot (my husband is a snow-ski fanatic), and I keep busy with the kids & church stuff. I'm still an avid reader of most anything and everything and the best Star Trek in my opinion was The Next Generation! I enjoy cross-stitching, playing my baby grand, travel and reading. Kind of boring, but I think I've earned it. I'm looking forward to when I can sew again (right now the little one gets into everything).
I wish that someone would plan a '75 graduate reunion. I know that a lot of people still live in the Paducah area, but I never seem to see anyone when I happen to be in Paducah. Would love to catch up on things!

Workplace
Managed a camera store in South Carolina, then Atlanta in early 80's. Then worked for a commercial real estate firm, first as a secretary then later a property manager of office/ industrial buildings. Began practicing law in 1995 with a general practice, then was a sole practitioner for a while before managing a larger law firm. Semi-retired in late 2004 to work part time & spend more time with our children. I practice adoption law exclusively and really enjoy it. I complete about 30 or so adoptions every year, and never seem to run out of work.
We are homeschooling, which is a full time job in itself. I'm teaching 7th, 4th and 2nd grade all at once, and it's extremely hard to juggle everyone. I'm also teaching piano to 2 of the kids, all while shuttling to soccer, kayaking, baseball and chorus. We're also busy with AWANA and other activities at church and our homeschool group.
I think that everyone would be surprised to know that I have so many kids and that we homeschool. We lead a busy life and sometimes wonder when/if it will ever slow down. We recently purchased a motor home and drove cross-country from California to Georgia. It was an interesting experience, to say the least. We also visited Key West in January and enjoyed the great weather.
I truly wish that the class of 1975 would have a class reunion. As I've said over and over, the people who still live in the Paducah area must have the opportunity to see each other a lot. Except for just a few people, like Donna Ramage and a few others, I haven't seen anyone since the last reunion (was that the 10 year??). I hope someone there takes the bull by the horns and gets something together, even if it were to be a reunion combined with another graduating class or two.
