Judy's Story
Life
Happily married to - Don Gregory - 1961
2 children - son and daughter
3 grandsons, 25, 23 ,22 - apples of grandparents eyes, eldest graduated from from UCLA with an Engineering degree, currently working for Fresno County in that area. Youngest -senior at Fresno State, to graduate in June with a degree in theater. Middle grandson is involved in technology.
Lived in Central California since 1961
BA and MA from CSUF - began work as a 1st grade teacher, completed my degree and credential requirements as a Speech and Language Pathologist - worked 15 years in that area - began teaching dyslexic children - did that at for more than 25 years - loved my job - remain fascinated by the brain research and what happens when reading is difficult. Retired in 2005 - still am working part time as a practicum supervisor - several special ed teacher interns I support. I also work part time as a reading intervention teacher for a small country school . I am happy to still have a chance to contribute and see kids. Plan to do so until I can't.
Love to read, cook, eat, consume chocolate, travel, go to live theater, enjoy friends and family, quilt and work in professional organizations.

my husband, still have friends from that period of my life - grew up - broadened my horizons.
Living in the dorms was a blast - would you believe we had to wear dresses to the cafeteria to eat our meals, had curfews, and got into trouble if you were late. We had good times with the men's dorm next door. No men beyond the double doors in the women's dorm. Kids today would think we lived in the dark ages.
The drama dept/Frank Wattron/ a great experience. I managed to play a variety of non essential parts - usually maids or other such vital roles - did back stage work began a life long interest in theater - as a consumer/audience member.
Spent a year at UCLA - got married - began teaching - completed my BA at CSUFresno - later completed my MA there too.
Really didn't know what I wanted to do with my life at that point, became a Speech/Language Therapist, elementary teacher/ eventually ending and still continuing as a Special Education Teacher working with dyslexic students. Very fortunate - as I truly love what I do.
Can't believe how fast the years have gone by. Covid has passed us by to date. We are current on vaccines, boosters, etc and we are hoping to take another trip this year - health and life permitting.
