Judy's Story
Life
I received my bachelors degree in English from Fresno State in 1969 and my life elem. teaching credential in 1970. I married Rich Davis in 1971 and it will be 44 years in Feb. 2015 for us. We have two sons. Jared is 40 and Adam is 37. Jared and his wife, Julie, have a 12- year- old son named Logan, 8-year-old daughter, Jaeden and another daughter, 3 years old, Laelle. They live in Austin, Texas and Jared works for Apple Computers. Adam, and his wife Stephanie, have two boys. Thomas, who is 3 years old and James who is 1 year old. They live in Alameda and love it. Adam does graphic arts and stays home with their boys. Stephanie works in San Francisco for Mother Jones magazine. We love being grandparents! Rich and I moved to Visalia in 2005. It is 50 miles south of Fresno in the Central Valley. We lived here in the 70's for two years, had our second son here and really liked it. We love being retired and living here.

f time to be at home with our sons and then taught 1st grade for 18 years. I ended my teaching career teaching 2nd grade for the six years. I taught for 26 years and then retired in 2005 at age 59.
We have had our health setbacks with Rich having had a heart attack 21/2 years ago because of a heart rhythm problem that was finally corrected and having two stents put in place. The first 8 months of this year have been tough for us with me having had surgery on my liver at UCSF to remove a 10 cm. tumor in the left lobe of my liver and having it diagnosed stage 4 Heptocellular Carcinoma. I had a great surgeon. My first CT scan in July showed me to be cancer free!! Hopefully, I will continue that way. Then in March I had to have a small intestine resection that was really a hard surgery. Happily, I am now past all of the surgery and feel back to normal.
Activity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints keeps us busy, also, and happily, going in the right direction in our lives.
