Judy's Story
Life...just a little update. Had heart surgery last week (March 22,2010)at Hamot Heart Institute in Erie. All went well, and this old girl is ready for round 2 of life!
My husband and I have been married for 40 years. We have two daughters, who much to our delight, both reside near us with their families. Our older daughter Sara, who is a speech pathologist, sadly, lost her husband in August of 2006 to leukemia. They had just been blessed with a daughter they named Cameryn, who is now four. Our younger daughter Kristie, and our son-in-law, Don, are the parents of two little girls, Karlie, nine, and Abbey, six. Abbey is a first grader at Wheelock...and guess what? The halls STILL smell just like they did when we walked them. Karlie is a fourth grader at the elementary school out on East Main Street.
Most of you will remember my older brother, John, who graduated in 1963. On October 23rd of 2006, he passed away unexpectedly from a massive heart attack. He resided in Canandaigua with his wife of 30 years, their three children and 5 grandchildren.
The majority of my time is spent tending to three little girls who bring bright sunshine into my life. Those of us who have lived long enough to become grandparents, are the luckiest people alive. I have two new knees that allow me to keep up with the pitter patter of little feet tearing all around this farm! They are what growing older is all about.
My summers are spent at Chautauqua Institution, where I sing in the Chautauqua Choir. The first year I was there, all I could think of were the music festivals many of us were part of when in elementary and high school. We would arrive at the Ma...Expand for more
yville School on the hill and practice until lunch time..eat our packed lunches, and practice all afternoon. Then we would climb on the buses and ride those few extra miles to Chautauqua Institution... sing at the Amphitheater, which was filled with friends and family. When it was over, there was that long walk out to the parking lot. Now, every Sunday morning during the summer, I sit in the choir loft in the same Amp as part of the most wonderful group of people in the world. :o)
When my first granddaughter was born, I became interested in digital photography. I now do quite well photographing area children whose parents pass my name on to friends... allowing for exposure within the community. If only I had known forty some years ago, what I know now!
I would love to hear from former classmates and friends from other classes as well.
Happy Days to everyone!
Judy
On September 23, 2012, my husband died suddenly while working in Westfield, Massachusetts. We were shy one month and one day of our 42nd wedding anniversary. Let the healing begin.
July, 2014...just returned from a week at Van Buren Point. "The Anderson Twins" stopped by to pay me a visit. Sue was in town to spend some time with Sal. How wonderful it was to see them together. We go back such a long time. The best part? It was as if the three of us had just seen one another yesterday.
I missed Ellen (Hunter) Henderson down there this summer....but will be seeing her brother, Bruce and his wife Marty in the beginning of August when they are here for Bruce's reunion. Bruce just happened to marry a dear friend of mine from college...such a small world we live in.
