Judy's Story
I am currently in Athens, TX. I have three boys and one daughter, all married with two kids each of their own. That makes 8 absolutely wonderful grandchildren.
In 1996, I visited my brother in Athens, Texas. I fell in love with this small town, green trees, grass, beautiful country and friendly people. I have a small farm raising Registered Show & Breeding Boer Goats.....Who would have ever thought......I never in a hundred years would have ever thought I would be raising GOATS of all things. I have always loved animals, but goats???? I ended up with a bottle baby about 12 years ago.......I was hooked!!! They are unique animals to say the least. My herd consists of 32 breeding does and 4 breeding bucks. Of course I still have my horses.
In 2005, Mike Babiash came out to help with the farm. Especially with all the kids grown and married with families of their own. After being single for many years, we remarried about 3 yrs ago.
Recently, my son Jody and his family have moved to San Angelo, TX. He is a Helicopter Pilot for the Hospital in San Angelo. His wife Michele works in advertising for the TV station. Their daughter Sierra is still in High School and daughter Dakota graduated last year from CDO. I love it because now they are only 5 hours away. He ...Expand for more
has taken us up a couple of times in their helicopter and it was awesome.
My eldest son Billy (oh my, almost 40 years old now) and his family are still in Tucson. He is still with the same company since just out of high school where his wife, Missy also works. His son Brandon is now in the military and daughter Ralynn will be graduating this year.
My son Kit, lives here in Athens with his wife and two children. He is working for a company that builds steel buildings. His wife, Kattie makes and sells custom jewelry. Her work is awesome.
My baby girl, (not such a baby anymore) is also here in Athens. She is a teacher at the Methodist Learning Center for preschoolers. Her husband, Trevor works for Trinity Valley Electric Company as their dispatcher. They, and their two boys live here on the farm. They have started a small herd of their own. They currently have 5 breeding does and two babies that were just born January 14, 2010.
