Judy's Story
I went to Highline in my sophomore year and for half of my junior year. I would have graduated in 1956. I left school in January 1955 to marry Richard Johnson on January 5, 1955. He was in the navy then and we moved to San Diego, CA the same month. As with young marriages it didn't last long. I gave birth to our daughter on April 2, 1956 and we were divorced soon after. I finished my high school at Edison Technical School with a diploma and a certificate in bookkeeping and office skills in Dec. 1957.
I met my now husband (John) at Edison Tech where he had come to finish his HS education, after getting out of the navy. Soon after he reinlisted and we spent 16 years going wherever the navy sent him. We have been married 55 years. He adopted my daughter and altogether we have 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. He just found his first son after 54 yrs. He lives in Las vegas NV - and we are going to Vegas in a couple of weeks to meet him...Expand for more
and his family (at least part of it). Life is full of surprises!
I am retired and enjoying my home and landscaping our little acre. John is still working partly because he wants to and partly to pay for all the trees and shrubs. Besides my home and the yard, I enjoy, almost all kinds of needlework, sewing, scrapbooking, rubberstamping, traveling, photography, and being with my family the very most.
Some of the friends I had in HS were: Mercille Stock (now deceased), Sandra Tait, Judeen Worthington ( I wish I knew where she is), Bruce Randall, and Sidney Blomberg (sp ?) There were a few more, that I can't think of right this moment.
I was plannning to come to the 50th reunion, but I had just had back surgery and didn't think my back could make the flight from NC to Seattle. My picture is in the reunion book - the last photo. My bio somehow got seperated from the picture. My hair was blonde in that picture - looked white. Now my hair is very white!
