Judy's Story

Life Has my life been a great ride! After garduation, got married - that lasted a year. Went to nursing school in Phila - altruism and compassion rearing its head. Got married to a doctor (my name changed to Zeligman): we moved to the Apache Reservation in White River, Az. where he was a Public Health doctor for 2 years. Then we moved to Tucson, Az. where he was and still is an emergency room doctor. I went to the University of Arizona and got 2 Bachelor Degrees, one in English Lit and one in Secondary Ed but have never used either for any particular purpose. I also had 3 children (more info later). We were married for 10 very long years. Single for 2 years, finishing my degrees and doing a lot of community volunteer work, serving on numerous Boards, primarily of Jewish organizations, and fundraising. Got married: Frank Aries. Frank was a mega real estate developer and we had 10 years of great times together. He was a good father to my 3 kiddies and opened up a whole new world to us. We had a big gorgeous Santa Fe pueblo style home in Tucson and a magnificent Mediterranean villa in Colorado Springs. And we had the toys, big ones: Lear 55, Rolls Royce, Aerospecial jet helicopter, 100' sailboat...We hung out with biggies - politicians (dinners with Pres., VP Bush to our house, blah, blah.) Travelled the world, by private plane for shopping in Paris or dinner in New Orleans. Sailed about 10 days a month and all summers and school vacations. Visited ports from Maine to Glacier Bay and most islands in-between. Did a lot of service on Boards and charity fundraising, but mostly had fun being a...Expand for more
full-time Mom and wife and enjoying the playground of the world. We moved to Florida in 1988 for what was supposed to be 6 months. We had just bought a yacht in Capetown, So. Africa and crew brought it to Fl. for outfitting (it was a new boat and needed finishing touches such as electronics, dinghy, etc.) So we moved aboard (along with our 4 in crew), put the kids in school, and had a nice liveaboard vacation at Turnberry. When the yacht was finished we moved to Fisher Island and had the boat docked outside our veranda. Pretty special. But then Frank decided to retire and cashed out. Sold our houses, cars, planes, etc. He was able to retire so I couldn't blame him for wanting to go sailing on our new yacht. But I had the children in school in Miami Beach and jr. high and high school years weren't the times to go off sailing into the yonderlands. So Frank sailed away, we got divorced by high seas operator after a while, and I decided to stay in Fl. until the last of the 3 finished high school, with plans to go back West where the children were going to college. Single again and life was still pretty great. Had my own 30' fishing boat that I took to the Bahamas and Keys with the children, bought a nice hopuse on Miami Beach, and didn't really do much of anything other than be a Mom and have fun. Then I met Chaim, my soulmate. More about Chaim later. So we got married; son # 1 (Aaron) was then living in Az., son # 2 (Greg) decided to move to Az. to live with his Dad and brother, so it was just me, Chaim, and Jennifer who was in 10th grade. And then..surprise! I had another baby! More later.
