Judy Taylor's Story
So many years, yet it seems as yesterday. The mind is willing, but the body says "hell no" you can't do that anymore, LOL. Has anyone tried jumping Hop Scotch lately?
I've torn through several marriages, thinking I was making good choices at the time....sigh....guess that's what thoughts will do for you, eh?
I moved from East Palatka to live in St. Augustine for about 20 years. During that time I ended up working for the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office as Sheriff Neil Perry's personal secretary. Shortly after my employment there, I went to the Police Academy at the St. Augustine Technical as part-time reserve deputy sheriff for about 4 years. Loved my job, prob the best job I've ever had.
Went to work at Arvida at Ponte Vedra for more money, (money do make a difference ya know) personal assistant to the VP of construction and development, for about 2 years.
I ended up taking a job in Jacksonville for a construction and development company, got married and lived in Jax for about 10 years. Worked for Barnett Bank in their Legal Dept for about 4 years...Expand for more
. Divorced, and left Jax to come to Chattanooga, TN.
I have 2 grandsons (had 3, but one was killed in a hunting accident in New Smyrna Beach,(Steven). Raised my oldest grandson from 9 years old, he's now 25 and he now has a son, Logen, 6 years old. For the past 5 years I've been raising my 8 year old granddaughter who is such a delight to me.
I work 3 part time jobs right now. I am a website designer and webmaster for the past 10 years. I am a graphic artist for the online newspaper in Chattanooga, and I'm a field service rep for Information Resources, Inc., out of Chicago, IL. a marketing and information company (10 years).
I've not remarried and have been single since 1999. I'm certain I've left out a lot of stuff in between, but the above are probably the high points of my life.
I'm very happy that I've found some of my old school friends on here. Funny where life leads us. I do miss Palatka and St. Augustine a lot. Sometimes up here I can even smell the salt water and the fish bedding, but there's not a drop of salt water here in the mountains.
