Judy's Story

Ok so anyone not from Possum school will even know me. I went through the 8th grade at Possum then off to Greenon I went. (Mom taught at Possum so I got to go free) Mrs. White, 5th & 6th grade. She's still alive and fine at 93. So what am I doing on Shawnee list, Trying to find old school friends from Possum. Had a special friend die recently and I guess I finally realized how suddenly we can leave. I am married, my husband and I are in ministry together. Don't laugh, God can change anyone! Together we have 3 son's, two are mine, one is his, though he adopted my youngest. Have 4 grandchildren. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right. In warm weather I work outside though since knees went bad it isn't that easy. When I have to stay inside I will read or mindlessly watch TV. Use to do a lot of writing but got away from it. Do I have a hero on this planet? Good question. My "deep" answer would be Jesus Christ, though for me that isn't deep. I think my Mother would be the closet person I would name. Why some of you may ask? She has been a constant in my life no matter what I have or have not done. She shows me how to go on even through the pain and disappointment life may bring. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Tim Cryder, because I need to ask for forgiveness as well as let him know that God can take all the pain a...Expand for more
way no matter what we have done.. Obsession? Oh boy... My dog, Diamond is right up there with my sons. I can hardly go out of town without worrying if she is being fed on time, put outside, not left alone for too long. I know that is "sorry". I love to watch several shows and usually I'm taping one thing and watching another. Then lets not talk about Bobby Flay, Iron Chef, HGTV, Top Chef, Dancing with the Stars...should I go on? One thing I have learned is that no matter how you train them up, they will and do have to learn for themselves. Long gone is the time we can say and they will listen to, do as I say not as I have done, or do. You'd think they would see from your mistakes and pain and not choose to go down that road. If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to our church, then spend the rest on paying off everything, helping our partner ministry and our families. My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ancient. I was so completely right! (feels that way at times). I guess my oldest friend would be Mickie (Whitmer) Eldridge. We lived across the road from each other and where inseperable until age 16, when I got stupid. I guess we hit it off just because we liked each other. We shared our dreams with each other, our hurts and pain. We stood up for each other when others were mean spirited. Why else, because after 39 years we caught up with each other and the friendship is till there.
