Judy's Story

Have been working for the City of Bartlett for 31 years. Raised two beautiful daughters, Susan 33 and Sarah31, who are both married and live out of town, so it's just me left in Bartlett. Not a grandmother yet, would love to be. . Was married for 12 years, then divored, his decision. Raised my daughters by myself and we have always been a very happy little family. Never remarried.. I still love sports, don't play them like I use to. Love that things are so different for women sports in schools now then they were when I went to high school. Traveling a lot more than I use to, this is due to my youngest living in Texas. Thinking about retiring, but I don't see it in the near future. I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. Shopping, talking and laughing with friends. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, quiet, and music to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My daughter's inspire me. Both decided what they wanted in life and went after it. I love nature's beauty, which means I love the fall season best. I have a little Yorkie, she is 15 years old. Never thought I would get so close to an animal. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel everything and add on a bathroom. My dream home would be in th...Expand for more
e mountains.. To be strong, be kind and learn how to laugh at yourself. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to my daughters, then spend the rest on myself, my family and friends. My current age is 59. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong. Ready to retire. Have worked for the City of Bartlett for 31 years. Overall, I have enjoyed my work and the people I work with. My best friend would tell you I'm funny, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet. There is more of me than there was 20 years ago. I love the new maxi dresses, but wear mostly dress pants and suits to work. I share my home with no one, which I find quiet. Played competitive sofeball for years, won of couple trophies for that, as well as basketball. In 10 years, I hope to be retired. I'm going to get there by hard work. I would say Mary Davis is my oldest friend. We met in 4th grade and were best friends from then, through high school. My first job was at Frosty Top, where I got paid 1.00 to waitress. What I remember most about it is I was under age, only 15.. Playing outside after dark with all the kids in our neighborhood and not being afraid. Hearing my mother call us in to take a bath and get ready for bed. I remember fire flys, hot belt and four square.
