Judy's Story
Life
2005 Right now I am enjoying life in the Foot Hills of the Catskills, in a small rural town, Middleburgh. Life is very laid back and slow paced. I really enjoy it here. I have my own business, I have been a beautition for 35 years. I work from my home and make "house calls". It can be very interesting! There is quite the community of "Gannon's and then some, here in the neighborhood. My parents live across the road from me, my youngest sister Amy, lives a short way from my parents house, my oldest daughter Jennifer, lives about 5 miles down the mountain from us. My daughter Jessica and grand sons are about 7 miles in the other direction. Several of my sisters live locally as well. We live on a county road that runs indirectly from the capital district, a back road from Delmar. As you can tell, I am involved with family quite a bit, as it should be. For those of you who knew my husband Mark Richards...he has passed away as of November of 2004...we were not together any longer, but as an ex...and father of my daughters, I mourn his passing...
Hope all is going well for those of you that venture this far in checking out bio's.
2007 Update: I have finished the homeschooling with my youngest. Still operating my Beauty Shop, from home. I am now in college part time... Empire State...on-line... My brother Bill, 45 (for those in class of '77-'78) has passed away (last year) from a heart attack. We as a family are still mending...but keep us in your prayers please. I have several grand kids now (3) And my youngest sister Amy (Gannon) Reinheart has a new little one. He just turned 7 this year. I hear the reunion was great! Hope to see you all maybe at the 35th.
2011 Update: I am about to finish up on the Associates Degree. We just made it through a Hurricane/Flood of epic proportions.....Expand for more
.many families lost their homes and many business's may not be able to re-open. It has been devastating for my friends and neighbors. The people across the road/creek from my home have lost their bridge twice in two weeks both Irene and Lee...devastated this area, roads out people displaced, animals lost or dead. Many have farms and they lost their homes, belongings, animals! Sooo Sad, please keep this community in your prayers.
2014 Update: I am so sad to say, my beloved mom has passed away...(February of 2012)...She and I had become close over the years...she helped me at my beauty shop for many years as the Receptionist! As she was aging I became even closer as her primary advocate at Dr. visit's etc...She lost most of her hearing and due to side effects from many years as a smoker!...had a hard time getting around...between my dad and my self, as well as sisters who also live local, were able to let her be at home through out her long illness. Those of you who knew mom have been so wonderful in your letters and cards...Thank You...if it hasn't been said already...
Kids are growing in their accomplishments...my oldest is in administration at our local college...middle daughter is now an LPN...and son is still deciding on his future...Grand children are doing well...oldest grandson is 6'3" and plays basketball & soccer(!) Middle beautiful grand daughter is on cheerleading for varsity teems, and at cheer competition on a local team! Youngest grandson, a sweetheart, likes swimming and baseball...hasn't decided on school sports yet...he has time for that...I still have business out of homestead here on our mountain...(now I sound like a Walton!) love it here, so quiet & peaceful...If anyone is in this area...stop in for a visit :-)
Peace & Blessings
