Judy's Story
Life
My first career (teaching 1st and 2nd grade in Maryland and Cherry Hill) ended in 1972 with the birth of my son, David followed in 1975 by the birth of my daughter, Laurie.
While my kids were growing up, I went back to graduate school and earned masterÂs degrees in Guidance Counseling, School Psychology and Business Administration. I was also, and continue to be, heavily involved as a womenÂs rights activist with my local NOW chapter (apnow.org) and the Alice Paul Centennial Foundation (alicepaul.org).
Currently, I am the Market Research Project Director for a Philadelphia advertising agency (lefton.com) where I have worked for 10 years. This past summer (June, 2000) ...Expand for more
I was divorced after a 30-year marriage. Thankfully, it was very mutual and amicable and my ex-husband and I are now much better friends than when we were when we were married.
My favorites activities include: doing feminist work, restaurants (especially Asian), going to the movies, listening to National Public Radio (I am a total junkie!), cooking and baking (specialties are gazpacho, cheesecake and baklava), politics and reveling in my new found solitude.
A few years ago, I took a class in stress reduction and meditation from Jane Stoy Fox who used to sit behind me in Mr. BeerÂs Geometry class and is now a therapist! If anyone would like to reach her, please let me know.
