Judy's Story
If you knew me, you may remember that I started KCC before high school graduation. I finished my AA degree in the summer of 1974. Remember how hard it was to find a job then? I ended up working for a bank laywer, and then as an executive secretary in an insurannce company. When my boss figured out I knew he was an alcholic, I got canned (me, just imagine!) and it was just two weeks before I got married. Thankfully, the marriage has lasted - 33 years to be exact. Moved all the way over to Portage, MI. What a homebody I am. I've worked for the City of Portage for 31 years - started as an Office Clerk, and now am the Purchasing Manager. Budg...Expand for more
ets are tight - I just don't get to spend money like I used to. We had two kids, Eric and Kim, who each have a child Dylan (7) and Carina (9). Due to circumstances, Carina lives with us during the week and then sees her mom on most weekends. My dad passed away in 1996. Mom had a bad traffic accident in 2001, right after 9/11. Nearly lost her feet, and took years to recover, then she's suffered several strokes - she never did really make it out of the wheelchair. Now she has dimensia, due to the strokes. She and my brother Norm live in BC.
Has anybody heard from Kurt Thorton, Kathy Herzing, Jeannie Frey? I'd like to get in tough with them.
