Judy's Story
Life
Hi all. After graduating from Uni in 1965, I got my BachelorÂs and MasterÂs degrees in Design at U.C. Berkeley. Moved to Seattle and had a career as an artist working in fiber, exhibiting my work in galleries, public buildings, and the Seattle Art Museum. I did commissions, sold small production items at fairs and festivals, and created numerous very large structures crocheted out of paper and rope. Taught at a small art college, The Factory of Visual Art, and numerous other schools and private venues around the Seattle area.
Turning a rather sharp corner, in 1982 I returned to Los Angeles and entered the business world. For 14 years, I worked as Director of Marketing for Jon Douglas Company Realtors. During that time, I was also certified as a scuba instructor, teaching classes at Pacific School of Scuba, and became a Training volunteer with American Red C...Expand for more
ross Disaster Services.
When Jon Douglas Company was acquired by Coldwell Banker in 1997, I took that as an opportunity to start my own business as a freelance copywriter. I never looked back. I write primarily for businesses, creating a wide variety of marketing materials, articles, reports, profiles, and web content. In 2004, I co-authored Fat Stupid Ugly: One WomanÂs Courage to Survive, with Debrah Constance, published by Health Communications, Inc. More about that at FatStupidUgly dot com.
I now live in Bellingham, Washington, where my business seems to be thriving, along with my garden.
