Judy's Story
Hi everyone! After Fitch, I attended URI for 3 years, married a newly-minted CG ensign in 1966, and finished my degree at the University of Miami in 1967. We lived in the Cuban section of Miami (first wave of immigration) -- my first job was teaching English as a second language at Miami High School. I loved it, and I sometimes think I learned more Spanish than some of my students learned English. After Miami, we lived in Silver Springs MD and Boston MA. We divorced in 1974.
Shortly thereafter I accepted a job in Dallas TX where I have lived ever since. I married again in 1995 to a wonderful guy, Allen Wilcox, who is a native Dallasite and an engineer. We both would love to move back to CT, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards right now. We also go into sticker shock on the differences in real estate prices between here and there.

Branch, Office of Inspector General, HHS. I learned a great deal about statistical analysis, persuasive writing, and the inner workings of gov't agencies. It was a very stressful and demanding job, so I was glad to finally be able to relax more. Much of our work was for internal use, but you may have heard about our studies of quality of nursing home care, or evacuation problems during hurricane Katrina. Many studies making the papers , such as problems with Medicare, Medicaid, or fraudulent providers often came from the OIG.
What else? No children, but I have step grand-children from Allen's side. For those of you who may have wondered, my father died in 1971 from a rare blood disease -- my mother had died in 1963. Without any family ties in CT after that, I didn't hear about Class of '63 reunions and missed catching up with all of you.
I would, of course, like to hear from you now. Shoot me an email when you can.
