Julia's Story
Life
I have been married for 12 years to a really great husband. We have three active children - 2 in elementary school and one still in preschool. Our activities revolve around the kids, who are into competitive swimming, gymnastics and dance. We like to go to the beach in the summer and would love to own a place there someday. We love where we live and are about to renovate so we can stay put through high school. I still love to sew but have a hard time fitting it in right now. I have not had any art classes in years and would love to do that in the near future.
School
I loved high school, especially PA, but wish I had been more prepared for college! There were so many talented people at PA and I often wonder what they are doing now. I realize now what a unique experience it was and how lucky we were to have the opportunity to put on such amazing productions. I actually have one of my kids in a drama camp this summer and it is great. They do everything from the audition to building the sets. College
College was great - probably the most fun I have ever had! BCC was a great intro to college life. FSU was a complete blast! I loved being in the scholarship house and really miss the football games. Stetson was really great too - it was like a country club compared to FSU! I cant complain about the food because it was pretty good, as evidenced by the 20 pounds I gained while I was there!
Workplace
I was pretty lucky - I was able to land a job with Delta in the Advertising department after graduating from Stetson (it was close though and the Peace Corps was looking pretty good compared to working at Disney for $8 an hour). I moved to Atlanta and began my career. I was able to travel internationally and had a fun time. I met my husband on a Delta flight from Ft. Lauderdale, and he happened to work at Delta too. We married and had our first child about 3 years later. I left Delta after 9 years that but then began consulting, which was great as it allowed me to work a flexible schedule. I have been consulting ever since and really like my current contract.
