Julia's Story
Life
I have done a little traveling since high school, not as much as I would have liked but life has funny way of changing your plans. I have worked since graduation in many different fields and companies. The finance world, healthcare, internet and culinary fields. Most recently was for an Internet company---it was great until the layoff soon after 9/11. The good news is I r started working for a mortgage company in 2003--doing what I enjoy as Administrative Assistant for the facilities/travel/technology department. In 2006 I was promoted to Business Technology Analyst. Sounds impressive, and I really enjoy what I do now. I still do a lot of the Admin work but I am also responsible for technology related issues and inventory, the setup and termination of associates and integrating new technology into the processes of Desktop Support. I have been researching my family geneology for several years and become more fascinated as time goes on. I have been in contact with distant relatives I would never have known if not for research. I have collected many photos of family back to my gggrandparents. And articles even further back.
My family is growing--my mother is a great-grandmother of 25. Making me a great-aunt 25 times. Jaden was born and he now our sports fanatic, at 2 he can really whack a baseball, not off a tee, his father pitches to him. Then in June Alysia was born, a screaming bundle of energy. She doesn't scream so much any more but she is a real pistol and keeps us on our toes. That makes 25 living greats, whew sure makes me tired to think we may be chasing all of them this year when we get together to celebrate Mom's 80th birthday.
College
I never seem to tire of learning. I continue to take classes learning more about software I use in my work environment. I enjoy school and the interaction between students and teachers, online classes are boring for me because of the lack of the interaction.
