Julianne's Story

Life After spending fifteen years in Memphis, I have relocated to the DC Metropolitan Area as of January 1st 2007. I've started a job in Fairfax, Virginia working at Pace Global Energy Services as an EA to one of the Executive VPs. My son turned eighteen in December and chose to remain in Memphis so the 'active parenting' child raising part of my life is now behind me. Who KNOWS what this newest chapter in my life will bring! But whatever it is, I have a good man at my side and it's full-steam ahead! In the past 20+ years I've learned that it really is the little things in life that count! School The single most important lesson I learned in school is that I won't let my son make the same mistake of being an underachiever that I did. Do I regret anything? No. Everything in life happens exactly the way it's meant to. But I do have sense enough to realize that doing it the way I did it will have my son completely shortchanging himself. College I bounced around a little. Started at UNO Freshman year - probably the most fun year...Expand for more
of college I had! Moved with my family to Mississippi and attended a couple semesters at Northeast Mississippi Junior College. Went to Campbellsville University in Kentucky (don't ask why - I still don't know!) which is where I graduated from. I got married before the end of my first year (the Noah's Ark two-by-two mentality of small, church-affiliated colleges is contagious). From that point on I was majoring in a bad marriage and minoring in getting through school. My son was born in December of '88 and went to classes with me my last semester. Thank God he was a really good baby! Workplace My work history hasn't exactly been very industry specific. I've worked for everything from a CPA to Shrinks to a Landscape company I helped my ex-husband start and run. I even worked slingin' chicken for The Colonel during college. I'm currently in the absolute best job I've ever had. I'm the Executive Assistant to both the President and Vice President of Probat Burns, Inc. a company that manufactures coffee roasting equipment. I LOVE this job!!!
