Julie's Story
My Life:
I was divorced for 6 years before I met the love of my life! I married him this summer and we are blissfully happy! We have a 16 year old Cocker Spaniel name "LadyBug", which is the sweetest lap dog ever born; however neither of us have kids. We both want them and have recently been approved for adoption from foster care, so hopefully we'll have a new addition to our family soon.
My Job:
I am a master cosmetologist with a specialty in aesthetics. I no longer really work in my field and do miss it a good bit. I have worked in many environments, but got tired of management and have worked a "regular" 40 hour a week job for the last 2 years. It's been GREAT! I still work in Atlanta, but recently moved to Newnan to escape the nightmare that is Atlanta traffic!
Where I've Been:
I've lived in Clearwater Florida, Memphis Tennessee, Birmingham Alabama, Columbus Georgia, Atlanta Georgia and of course Lanett Alabama. I remember thinking that I couldn't wait to move as far away from the Valley as possible and after living in several places, ended up only 40 miles from where I wanted to escape from! Funny how things change!
What my dreams ...Expand for more
were:
I always thought that I would end up being a singer that lived in a bus travelling from concert to concert. I did get the chance to sing with a band that opened in concert for several folks like; Reba McEntire, Lee Greenwood, Shenandoah, Exile, Ricky Van Shelton and more, but my dream never really came to fruition. I have great memories of what I did get to do, but I'll always have a bit of regret for not doing more to reach those dreams. These days the only singing that I do is for a few civic functions, contests and a little bit of Karaoke with friends.
What I've learned since High School:
Nobody is who or what you thought they were, nothing you thought was important likely really is, don't care what other people think about your choices, surround yourself with positive people; however ones that will still tell you the TRUTH when needed, laugh often...it is VITAL to a happy life, Be comfortable in your own skin regardless of your size or shape, regularly tell loved ones what they mean to you...they can be gone in an instant and most importantly, it is better to be disliked for who you ARE then loved for who you are NOT!
