Julie's Story
I attended Valencia CC and UCF after Edgewater High. Was a full time mom, wife (in 1981), and part time student for 9 years. Became a CPA in 1989 under the name Julie Robertson and worked for Geller, Ragans, James (large local CPA firm in Orlando) until 1996. (Got divorced in 1993.)
Got married in 1996 to Mark Anastasia (1 week after our 20th reunion.) Started working with our manufacturing company in 1997 full time. In 2002, we expanded our company, HEC Services, into China. My husband starting traveling extensively and was the CEO of the China partnership.
In 2004, I was diagnosed with Stage IIB Breast Cancer and Anthony (Mark's son who had been living with us) graduated from high school the next day. I was supposed to move to China the following month, but the trip was obviously delayed for my treatment. I finally moved in August 2005 for about 2 years. I...Expand for more
t was a great adventure and it was also great to not have to work for 2 years as well as re-energize after the chemo and radiation I had endured.
I'm now back in the Orlando area and am starting my own accounting/consulting business named Anastasia Services. I am proficient with QuickBooks Pro and wish to help business owners with their accounting needs or to teach them if they wish.
My daughter, Char is not married but is happy in a relationship. We see each other frequently and we are both involved in The Breast Cancer 3-Day fund raising and walking.
Anthony is married, an Iraq Veteran, and his wife gave us our first granddaughter, Abigail. She is 16 months old (June 2009) and a joy to be around.
Courtney, Mark's step-daughter, is married, lives in Australia currently, and gave birth to Bailey, June 2008. We haven't met her yet but hope to meet her soon.
