Julie's Story
Life
Hi, much has changed since the acne and
agony
inflicted days of Logan Elm highschool;
the only place capable as donning
"Bocepus" as it's hail-all senior title.
During those 4 years I started a gum
collection in my locker, cultivated
fruit flies (also in locker) from a
rotten bannana i left to
percolate over a warm holiday, joined
the V club with other
beautiful-but-didn't-know-it-because-we
were-surrounded-by-creeps 10th grade
girl and luckilly wasn't the last
one--if you were in the club--you'll
know what I mean. Carmen morrison was my
best friend as earlier ones fell fickle. I
listened to Violent Femmes, The B-52's
and the Cure and Denise Barton thought
these were drugs. No denise; Bands. Not
drugs. Stacey and Melanie got in a car
crash that really stunned alot of us and
Stacy told me the dirtiest joke that
ever seared my ears in 10th grade
biology. To this day, I still cringe! I
wasn't liked by the hipest
crowd for many
reasons and spent alot of those years
trapped within a very dysfunctional

ly. But I
turned those traumatic times into fodder
for creative and educational outreach.
I'm now a
California person, complete with it's
anti smoke laws, new age guru's and buff
plastic surgury kings and queens. But
I'm not one of those, just a humble
artist who writes and follows her
heart--for better or worse. I've put out a book that sort of covers the hillbilly
lazy boy recliner culture i grew up in, it's called sickened and will prob tell you
more than you'd ever want to know about me. the book, amazingly, is in about 20 countries so many people around the world have read about Ohio summers and this particular neck of the woods. i write and speak on child abuse issues and am a renowned advocate on certain subjects within this realm. you can reach me thru my website, juliegregory dot com.
PS, somebody please gratiffi the school for me when
you get a chance and tell Marvin Powers
I'm over that crush I used to have
on him in shop class. luv, Julie
