Julie's Story

I was born in Minneapolis, MN. In 1962 my parents moved to Rochester after my maternal grandmother died. My schools include John Marshall High School and UW-Stout ('81, '85). I'm a registered dietitian and a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Currently I'm Vice President of Health and Wellness for Midwest Dairy Council, St. Paul, MN. lunteer as a US Figure Skating judge. I am married to Paul Ostrow and have two adult children, Matthew and Emily. We've lived in NE Minneapolis since 1988. My dad, Bud Mattson taught English at JM from 1962 to 1992 and my parents still live in Rochester. One of my favorite quotes is:""Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be," Abraham Lincoln".

One of the best parts about cleaning is finding hidden treasures. I love this picture with my dad. We were backpacking on Isle Royale in about 1986.
