Julie's Story
Julie's schools include Summerfield High School, Mason Consolidated, and later, Bedford High School - Adult Education. where she and her husband, Raymond attended together, as a couple. Mr & Mrs. Martin not only attended all of the required classes together, they also enjoyed participating in and learning together in several extracurricular & elective classes and events.
Drafting class was one of those extracurricular elective classes which they attended together, and for which there was no mistaking how great their love and enjoyment of learning & working together is or how great their love for each other is.
In fact, their love of learning & of each other was so apparent that each received awards for excellence in their drafting abilities as a team and also for their individual drafting abilities.
Dubbed the "Golden Couple", the duo was shocked & pleasantly surprised when when they discovered that they were featured in a Photo Shoot & Cover Story in TheToledo Blade. Unbeknownst to Mr. & Mrs. Martin, The Photographer had successfully captured the pair in action during drafting class and the reporter interviewed the Dean, Faculty, Staff, Teachers and fellow classmates to obtain the necessary information & details for the Toledo Blade Article.
Subsequently, and still together, both Raymond & Julie received their official State Of Michigan GED's.
Soon after Julie obtained her Official HighSchool Diploma & attended Formal the Graduation of Bedford High School, very as Class Valedictorian (May 21st,1989).
Raymond and Julie then went to work putting together what would be a 35 yr successful run in the construction business. As the business grew, the boys went to work with Mr. Martin and Mrs. Martin focused on the children and running the business and administration from the home base. As the business grew, so did the children, so while keeping the business in good running order, Julie again stretched herself and went on to attend The University of Toledo, (Phi Theta Kappa), earning her A.A. duel* Biz.Tech/Para~Legal Technologies -
receiving several outstanding achievement awards including - while ...Expand for more
participating in regional Mock Trial Competitions, 2 years running.
She also earned Duel Degrees at Spring Arbor University, graduating *Cum Laude - with a Bachelor of Arts in both Business Org.Development & Management of Human Resources. Consistently remaining on the Dean's List, as well as other Honor Society & 'Who's-Who' Lists, Julie went on to attend & obtain her Juris Doctorate at The University Of Toledo - College Of Law. She spent many years working with at risk kids, while working in the Juvenile Prosecutors office, GAL Department, Bailiff & Intern for several Magistrate's, Judge's & Attorney's, She served as advisory counsel for a number of attorneys and practices, opened her own private practice central to Adult & Juvenile Criminal Law; as well as Family Law & General Practice.
Over the years, she served as a Mediator, Guardian Ad Litem and CASA for a number of Courts & Counties, as well as in her own private practice. She accomplished all of these milestones while managing the construction business she & Raymond built together, and raising their children, 2 sons born to Julie & Raymond, during their marriage, and also 2 children to which she was full time mom (and only mom, from the time they were 2 & 4 yrs old into their adulthood) that Raymond brought with him into the marriage from a previous relationship) Eventually, Julie took on the role of step-mom to Raymond's other children by other mothers who came to light at other times during their marriage.)
Music Julie likes includes: Francesca Batestelli, Finding Favour, Kutless, Barlow Girl, Sanctus Real, Jamie Grace & Hillsong. (Bryan Duncan's - "Streets of Gold"; Guy Penrod's -"Knowing What I Know about Heaven"; & Elvis Presley's - "How Great Thou Art - Melody" should be played at Julie's funeral along with Shania Twain's "Looks Like Like We Made It" and "Darling Stand By Me", in honor of Hubby of "going on '40 yr's soon, Raymond Charles (Charlie) Martin) .
Books Julie likes include The Bible, The Oath, This Present Darkness & Megan Kelly's -"Settle For More". Movies Julie likes include Race to the Finish, Courageous, Fireproof.
