Julie's Story
Life
Well, alot has happened since I graduated Highschool but isn't that called life? Tom and I were married for almost two years and then we went our seperate ways. I found out that I was pregnant and began my life as a single mom raising a beautiful daughter. I eventually married again to a man with four small children. Where their mother went to? Well to another man! She had no maternal instincts to speak of and no heart as well! Anyway, to make a long story short, that didn't work out either because I wasn't supposed to be with him. Those of you who know me, how have you been? I've worn many hats in the careers that I chose in my journey. First, stay-at-home mom. Then college student at Portland Community College studying Computer Information Systems and Computer Science and Applications. Next, Volunteer Coordinator through AmeriCorps at SE Works Neighborhood Jobs Center in SE Portland. I successfully created a Volunteer Program for SE Works so that Job Seekers could have an opportunity to gain various skills that they could use in their next job. 1998 I became SE Works new Office Manager. Again wearing many hats in this postion which included building maintenance, paying the bills, event planning, policy & procedures, staff & partner training events, managing the reception desk, assisting clients with their resumes and mock interviewing, and anything else I chose to do. My journey came to a temporary end after September 11, 2001. My job went away and so I joined the ranks of the unemployed. I worked for many temporary employment agencies and finally landed a job at Safeway. I've been with them for three years and it's been a great experience for me. I work closely to gain skills that I can use as opportunities come my way. Ohh and my daughter Amanda is also working for Safeway. She is the manager of Customer Service among the many other hats that she wears at her store. Yes, we're keeping in it the family! How about you? How are you? Tell me....if you like, my url on MySpace is: angelofthemorning23, you can reach me there most of the time. I have my page set to private but my last name is Hargous so use that to message me. Have a wonderful day! I see that alot of you don't have pictures posted and I just have to say that there is no shame, we're all older and life happens! Let me see you!
