Julie's Story
10/07/12
AHS reunions aside, here's my life, in a nutshell, after graduating in 1978:
1978 - 1980: I attended Mt. San Antonio College, and received my Associate in Science Degree for Flight Attendant, as well as my Travel Agent Technology Certificate. Shortly thereafter, I began working at a travel agency.
1982: I married my husband, John, a '74 Bishop Amat graduate. Four months later, I was hired by Western Airlines as a reservations sales agent at LAX, and later transferred to Ontario Airport, as a Customer Service Agent, where I worked the Ticket Counter, Boarding Gate, Ramp, and Operations. John and I lived to TRAVEL, and were rarely home. We've been lucky enough to travel all over the US (many Hawaii trips), and to Germany & Australia.
1986: My son, Jake, was born. Life as we knew it would never be the same, in a GOOD way!
1987: Western merged with Delta Airlines, and eventually I was able to transfer from the Ramp at Ontario Airport (loading bags/mail & cabin service) to the Ticket Counter/Gate, where I'm at my best. Delta is a class-act company, and I loved my job! However, after having a baby, all else paled in comparison.
1989: I gave birth to my second son, Jared. A loving spouse, and two healthy boys. Life is FANTASTIC!!
1993: After extensive medical testing, to determine why my body was "acting so funky" (ie: slurred speech, difficulty walking, lack of fine motor skills), I was diagnosed with remitting/relapsing Multiple Sclerosis. My airline career as I knew it at Ontario Airport ceased, and I'm grateful to currently be an "Inactive Delta Employee". Thank goodness for my health insurance and travel benefits... FLY DELTA, everyone! They treat their employees well, and good passenger service is our #1 goal! MS took the girl away from the airport, but opened a new, more important door: I became a full-time Mom! I was as active as my MS would allow, and loved PTA, teaching Art, Red Ribbon Week, Football/Wrestling booster... anything that my boys were associated with.
1993 - Current: I'm still a full-time Mom & Wife (aka: Domestic Goddess) and married 30yrs to a man that I adore! After settling into "...Expand for more
life after 50" (do we have a choice?), I enjoy FAMILY, scrapbooking, TRAVEL, art, and planning A.H.S. reunions! I'll see you soon!
Go Aztecs!

Hello Friends!
Our AHS "All Classes of the 70's" Class Reunion was a blast last October! If you weren't able to attend, we're sorry we missed you.
I'm no longer crazy-nuts about this site, and have let my membership lapse. Maybe we'll re-connect on FB.
Best Regards, and GO AZTECS!
