Julie's Story
Catch 'em up on what you've done and who you are.
After HS I attended FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) for a career in fashion. After I graduated, I immediately secured a position in a children's wear company. I changed jobs several times until I finally ended up as Merchandise Manager of the men's & boy's lines at a company called Big Yank in The Empire State Building. I was bored & wanted some sales experience, so I changed jobs again and it didn't work out. I became pregnant with our first daughter, Jennifer and collected unemployment for 6 months, simultaneously going to school and earning my real estate license at my husband's urging. It was a good move as I have been a very successful Realtor in Brooklyn for 36 years which is where I have resided with my husband for the past 42 years. We also own a home in Lake Naomi, a community in The Pocono Mountains. My older daughter Jennifer graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University with a 4.0 average and my younger daughter Amanda also graduated there. earned her PhD in archaeology. She now works for The Harvard Art Museum and as Assistant Director of Academic Engagement, specializing in Egyptology. She married her husband James in NYC in 2014 & again in France in 2015. Amanda worked for Bloomingdales Corporate after graduation & then became a licensed certified yoga instructor & moved to Hi in 2016. After living there for 2 years, she returned home, married & then divorced. She secured a position with a nonprofit called The Philly Friendship Circle, & has been there ever since. She’s now program coordinator for the organization & leads member engagement. We are very proud of both of them. I am currently serving as Program Chair of the Brooklyn Board of Realtors as well as serving on The Board of Directors & have been a licensed associate broker & Realtor for the past 36 years. I am also involved in many community based functions & serve on my local community board 10. I have been an award winning associate broker with RE/MAX for the past 23 years & was honored to be the 2021 #1 agent company wide. I love to travel, cook, bake, collect antiques & still have a great love for fashion.
