Julie's Story

Basically I worked my way through Kent State - took the long less expensive road - but graduated in 1990. Moved to New Jersey in 1990 - (just outside Atlantic City,) and began working for the Trump Organization. Worked at Trump Plaza for 10 years, and decided I'd had enough of the casino industry. During that time I met my husband Steve (1997). At the time of my Trump transition I was working in sales for a company that produced tradeshows. Steve and I were married at Holy Angels Church in Bainbridge in June of 2001. I continued my tradeshow career for 3 years when one of my clients invited me to join their team. I joing Boyd Gaming and MGM at their new Vegas Style casino property in Atantic City - Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Our company has since opened (July '08) an additional hotel adjacent to Borgata - known as The Water Club. I am currently the Hotel Sales Marketing Manager for both properties. e in Ventnor NJ with our two birds (Tavarura, and Rusty) and our two black labs - Touser and Jack. Update - January 2010 - Well the economy hit both of us pretty hard in 2008, as Steve and I were both unemployed for about 6mos. In May of 2009, I joined the sales team for the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Steve is building a hospital in Voorhese NJ, so we both have two-hour commutes round trip daily. We are hoping the economy takes a turn for the better to enable us to stay in our respective fields, and hopefully closer to home. We are still in Ventnor with our animal family - and are very thankful to be working. Update - February 26, 2010 Well I resigned from the PA Convention Center today :) I accepted a position back in Atlantic City in sales with Harrah's Entertainment. I start there March 15th. Really looking forward to a 15 minute commute and only 7 miles to work. Things are looking up...
