Julie's Story
Life
After high school I worked at Parker Hannifin to put myself through college. My job as a Web application programmer has been the perfect career for me. I lived in Texas for 10 years and am now happily married and living in New Hampshire on 13 wooded acres. I've gotten into gardening big time and friends say I have a green hand! I have three cockatiels, a yellow canary and fish in our outdoor watergarden. Our chipmunks are tame and will eat peanuts out of our hands. Our gardens were created with butterflies and hummingbirds in mind.
My husband and I both share the love of travel and meeting new people. We were married in Belize in the jungle near Guatemala. Our best man/maid of honor were people that we met while vacationing there. We also love sailing and scuba diving. We spent our first anniversay sailing around the Whitsunday Islands on a 36 foot boat , exploring the reefs and the rest of Australia. Unfortunately we were unable to swim with ...Expand for more
the Whale Sharks due to a cyclone!
I still play my clarinet and am involved with the local town band. I marched with the band on the Mall in Washington DC! I'm also learning the Irish tin whistle and the Didgeradoo from Australia.
My hobbies include photography, bird watching, cooking ( I even grill in the middle of winter!), skiing, cycling, windsurfing, kayaking, hiking, scuba diving, sailing and of course traveling. I've sailed around the BVI's, the Grenadines, Greece and Australia.
I've toured the Galapagos Islands with my mother-in-law, Phyllis, and my husband. Phyllis spent about 28 months volunteering at the Darwin Institute and collected many of the plant specimens there. I got to cross the equator and walk on 100 year old lava as the volcanos are still very active there.
I currently work as an Internet web programmer for Autodesk, Inc which is a San Francisco company so I get a couple of trips a year out to CA. Hey, someone has to do it!
