Julie's Story

Life After I graduated from high school, I soon started college at HBC. After the first quarter, I had to drop out. Why? Because I had to take care of my mom. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer.... little did I know it was terminal. It wasn't even a year since I completed a chapter of my life, that I lost the one person I needed most. My mom. She passed away January 17th, 2003. I went back to school, but it wasn't the same. I had no time to grieve. So I dropped out again. It was hard... especially being the only one here for my mom. I was the one she depended on. I always thought it was supposed to be the other way around you know? I guess you can say I had to grow up really quickly... not that I wasn't already. ause a lot of people almost always thought I was the eldest child, cause I was way more mature than my sister... but that's beside the point. Anyway, I quit school for about a year. And finally decided HBC wasn't for me anymore. So, now I'm going to LCC.... Not doing that great, but hey... School is school, right? I don't know... LIFE, just doesn't seem the same without a mother figure in my life anymore. My mom was like my best friend. I'd ditch school with her just to go shopping... which was always her idea, by the way.. LoL. Ever since I can remember, my mom always made me happy no matter what. Now that she's gone... There hasn't been a day where I was happy... truly happy... "I hide my fears behind a broken smile."
