Justus's Story
Life
After graduating I went in the US Air Force, working as an electronic warfare technician. Spent four years there then got out and started college. First Jefferson Davis Junior College, then USM. Graduated in 1994 with bachelors degrees in Polymer Science and Mathematics. Married a girl from Pascagoula shortly after graduating and moved to Memphis Tennessee working as a formulation chemist. Lived there for five years. She working on a nursing degree and me working on a foreign language degree (Russian, Arabic, and French). Before I could finish that degree, I was hired by American Standard (Egypt) to work in a new plastics factory outside of Cairo, Egypt. Shortly after coming to Egypt I divorced. After that I met and married wonderful Egyptian woman. Her name is Judy. We have two lovely daughters named Jumana and Jalila. After seven years in Egypt I moved to Qatar working for a major oil company working in research and development. Google my name and you will get my website. School
I liked high school. I was a little shrimp, only weighed 105 lbs at graduation (I'm 175 now, solid) but no one seriously took it into their heads to kick my ass. Especially surprising considering that I had a real smart mouth. Of course, I never dated until after high school. Didn't seem to me that any of the girls were interested, though I have talked to two ladies from back in the day that said it wasn't so. I'm skeptical. Anyway, it was cool being one of the few punk rockers, especially in a time when a lot of people didn't know what that was. I gave up that style in the military, but boy I wish I had taken more pictures of some of those outfits.
College
USM was fantastic. For polymer chemistry, you can't get a better value for your education dollar and I have turned the degrees I got from there into an emotionally and financially satisfying career. All the friends I made there still email each other and keep up with each others lives. I look very fondly back on those days, even though I was poor as a churchmouse.
