K's Story
Ran off to SF in 1967, NYC in 1968. Started a family in Chico in 1972. Divorced in 1977 with a 5 yr-old daughter. Had good times in the 70's and 80's. "Just say Why Not?" was our motto. Had some alcohol and cocaine problems in those times. Been clean for 23 years and alcohol free 14.
My brother Garth got AIDS and died shortly after his 40th birthday in 1990. Still miss him so much.

ho introduced me to Hawai'i music. Became a hairstylist and lived in the SF Bay during the 90's. Moved to Hawai'i in 1998 to continue studying Hawai'i language and music.
Been back in SF Bay since 2006 and I teach hair cutting. We've been companions all this time. Somebody started a fire in her Berkeley triplex in Jan 2010 and two of our cat family died in it. We were displaced. Still pulling it back together after that huge disruption. Ch-ch-ch-changes, turn to face the strange ch-ch-changes.
