Kara's Story
Life
It all started in 1997. One day I just decided to move to Phoenix, Arizona with a friend. I was tired of Iowa and wanted bigger and better. Phoenix definitely had it. Within the next three years I worked for a commercial property management company, met my husband, got married, and had our first beautiful daughter (Riley-soon to be 5 years old), and moved back home to Knoxville, Iowa. uly 2001 my husband (Mike) and I opend our own business (Sun Shack Tanning) located on the Knoxville square. In November 2001 we had our second beautiful daugher (Maddi-soon to be 3 years old). Since then it's just been busy, busy, busy. My husband is a Plant Services Engineer at Pella Corp., I run the tanning salon, and we both try to keep up with our daughters. We loved Arizona but this is where we chose to raise our kids. As my daughter, Maddi, would say (Wizard of Oz nut), "There is no place like home".
