Karan's Story
I'm married to David Stripling from Denison and we celebrated our 50th anniversary 2 years ago. We have two grown children and two granddaughters. We live in Austin and I'm retired. I love to travel and there are so many places that I haven't been to yet. Since writing this we have travelled to Oregon, Kauai, Colorado, Key West, Montana, Virginia and D.C. and most recently back to California for our second granddaughter's high school graduation. Except for the trip to Kauai, Oregon and getting to Florida (David couldn't get the time off to drive.) they were all road trips. The time in Kauai, Colorado, Oregon and Montana was spent with our daughter and her family and she joined us in Virginia. We also cruised to Alaska and spent 6/7 nights on land. We did see Mt. fornia were in our C5 Corvette so it has now been coast-to-coast. The trip to California included meeting up with our best friends who live in Denison in Santa Barbara in their Corvette and driving Hwy 1 north to San Francisco with stops in San Simeon, Carmel/Monterrey, on the way. After 3 nights in S. F. we went on to Napa. Our son is in San Marcos so we see him a little more often. For several years now we have joined our friends and their Texoma Corvette Club and gone to Eureka Springs for Corvette Weekend. After we return from there we fly to New York for a cruise to Quebec; hopefully the weather will be as nice as on our cruise to Alaska. Hopefully our health remains good and the money lasts so we can continue to travel. We have not been back to Europe since moving from Germany in 1988 so that is still on our "to do" list.
