Karen's Story
All in all, itâs been a great ride! There is really nothing incredible about my life. I still have a great sense of humor. I'm still an accountant even though I flunked Bookkeeping in High School. Go figure! I'm more of a consultant now and working for different clients, semi- retired. I was an avid golfer (a bad one but still avid) prone to accidents. The day I couldn't play anymore every golf course in Northwest Houston had their insurance premiums lowered by 20%. The reunion committee knows my stories so I won't be in charge of the golf outing or allowed near a golf cart!
I have one daughter living in Austin. She is in advertising and marketing. I have four beautiful grandchildren, two grandsons and two granddaughters. They are the most fun I have ever had. Grandchildren are like the reward for the teenage years.

my life. I've been married so many times my branch on Ancestery.com looks like a Japanese puzzle! I got it right this time and life is good. Now here is something you might find interesting. Kathryn Mendoza is my sister-in-law! When Terry and I met his brotherâs new fiancé, I knew there was something familiar about her. It took us about 10 minutes to make the connection and we were squealing like little girls. We have a lot of fun.
Over the years, I've known great happiness and joy, as well as devastating grief. I've done some things I'm proud of and some I regret, as all of us have. Iâve lived, Iâve survived, had endings and beginnings. Hopefully there will be many more days like today. There is not much I would change.
Look forward to seeing you all. XXO and thanks to all the committee members who put this thing together. Let me hear from you!
