Karen's Story
Life
I have been happily married to Tony Hickton since 1991. I have one son, Derick Banach, And three stepchildren, Nick, Anthony & Jaime Hickton. And now, three grandchildren---Mollie, Riley & EJ---with one more on the way! I have a yellow lab, Dreyfus & 2 cats, Riva & Shrubs. We live in Bethel Park, PA.
School
I loved my High School years. Some of my best memories are of the times we walked the streets of Lawrenceville---we would see everyone! Whether we were walking to Leslie Park to swim, play pool or watch a football game or to the Lyceum for a basketball game or fair, or watching fireworks at Arsenal Park. We would have snowball battles, sing in the rain & walking past the guy's we liked house a million times, then turn corner & bump into him! How exciting, yet simple...
Where is everyone now? My kids use MySpace to keep in touch with all their friends, but our generation seems afraid to use the web. Maybe it is because we just got our first comput...Expand for more

College
I went back to school when Derick was five. I received a degree at Robert Morris in Business Administration. It wasnÂt very eventful considering I was there because I wanted an education instead of a social life. I went evenings & weekends for almost 5 years before I graduated, but it was worth it.
Workplace
My first job was a busgirl at LombardozziÂs restaurant--- 2 blocks from my house. My second job was a tray girl at West Penn Hospital---just across the street from my house. My third job I was a Family Daycare Provider---- right in my house! I was self employed for 16 years before I left the home to work at HL Zeve Associates, Inc as an Assistant Portfolio/Operations Manager in downtown Pittsburgh. I had to put my education to work! And now, instead of playing with other peopleÂs children, I play with their money.
