Karen's Story
I doubt anything about me would surprise anyone at a reunion. I hardly knew anyone very well, and other than athletics wasn't interested in too many of the school activities.
High School was a tough gig for me. Never quite felt comfortable in my own skin until I left for college. Majored in Phys Ed., taught for 4 years while my hubby attended dental school. We left for Okinawa, Japan in 1977 right after he graduated, and served as medical missionaries for our church (Seventh day Adventist). Spent ten years there, had two kids in the process. I taught in a one room school for 2 years before returning to the states. My hubby set up his practice here in Spokane, WA. I work in the front office. Our son graduates from Dental school in May 2008 and our daughter is a graphic artist in Sacramento, married to a firefighter and they are expected their 3rd daughter in July 08.

spital I was working at. He actually remembered me, which was a shocker.
I never did anything wild in school. I was the epitome of boring.
He moved to fallon NV, but that was way before high school.
I have no hopes anyone will remember me, since I can barely remember school!
I am truly happy now, living in the most perfect place with a really great guy.
My biggest surprise is that I turned out to be slightly smarter than I thought I was.
My whole 19th year would be a do-over, if I could learn the hard lessons I learned then in an easier fashion.
In the summer between my sophomore and junior year of college I drove down to the L.A. Times and L.A. Library and measured the size of headlines in sports sections for the years dating pre 1900 through 1950. It was grunt work for a professor working on his ph.d in PE.
I grew up in Walnut, CA. Got married, moved to Loma Linda, CA for 5 years. Moved to Okinawa Japan for 10 years, and have been in Spokane ever since.
