Karen's Story

Hello everyone , where to begin ? Well as you all know my parents moved back to Michigan with only 6 months of my senior year left at Rogersville High, which was devastating to me, so i graduated from Olivet High School in Olivet Michigan, but i still consider myself as graduating from Rogersville. Before i was moved back to Michigan, an engagment ring was placed on my finger by Doug Dewald of Church Hill, so when i did graduate i moved back to Tennessee and got married to him, it was quit the battle , was married for 8 years , no children, very abusive relationship . After the divorce i moved back to Michigan to be with my parents, as my father needed me there, lived there for two years, took some college in Medical Records and also CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), worked in a nursing home for 16 years as a Medical Records Supervisor. In 1989 I met my now husband of 22 years on a blind date New Years, three months later on March 17, St. Pattys day he proposed to me, and on December 23, 1989 we married, now have two wonderful gifts from god, miracle babies, they truly are miracle babies, as i was not supposed to be able to have children, they are now 20 and 17 years old. I quit my job when my first son was born to stay home and raise him in a loving enviroment, when he started school , i went to work in the school district as a lunch lady, so i could be where he was and be home when he was home and off work when he was off school, it was absolutely perfect, Then is 1994...Expand for more
son number 2 arrived, it was great and a gift from god !! Then my father became ill with colon cancer and passed away, he was my rock, i was daddys little only girl, i miss him dearly ! Then i transferred to the maintenance department within the school district, mowing, landscaping, the marking of all sports fields, you name it and i did it, but soon all the heavy lifting and hard work caught up to me, my spine started blowing disc;s, , lumber and cervical, i have went through 7 back surgeries, with 4 of them being Spinal Fusion with Titanium Rods and Screws, and 2 Cervical surgeries with a peek cage around my cervical spinal canal and rods, needless to say i resigned from my position with the school district as i felt that i could no longer do my job to meet my satisfaction, and i always say if you cannot do a job and go home at night feeling good about yourself, then it is time to move on, it was very hard on me , as many of you know , i cant just sit around, i have to stay busy !!! I get along now just fine, enjoying my family. My husband is employed by General Motors at a Tool and Die maker (skilled trades), for 26 years, we love to go huntng for whitetail deer , fish, and go camping .. We are a very close family, and love to do things as a family, afterall that is what life is all about Family, you have family when you have nothing else !!!!! I have rambled on long enough, i could keep going, but lucky for you i wont, lol ~! Cant wait to see everyone, see ya soon
