Karen's Story
Life
Hi Friends,
Presently, I teach at Howard Bishop Middle School in the Academy of Technology and Gifted Studies. I received my master's degree in educational administration at the University of Dayton. I received National Board Certification a year ago which is a grueling process - almost the same as writing a thesis for a doctorate! I hope to retire next year, Lord willing.
I love living in Florida and I have been here for 15 years now. We live an hour and a half from both the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Ocean. Our favorite weekend trip is to visit the beautiful cit...Expand for more

I am married to Dr. Greg Magruder whom I met at Georgetown College. We have three children - two sons and a daughter. My daughter, Dr. Olysha McRae, works for Johns Hopkins University as an instructional designer. My eldest son, Wes, has a degree in business administration and my youngest son is getting his degree in engineering.
I have two grandchildren and one on the way. I spend most of my time in the pool with the grandkids when I am not in the classroom.
