Karen's Story
I ended up staying in Oregon after my parents moved here during our senior year in HS. I graduated from University of Oregon Health Sciences Center with a degree in Medical Technology and worked as a lab manager for over 20 years before going back to school to get my MBA. I now work for Regence Ble Cross Blue Shield managing staff in Utah, Oregon, Idaho and Washington.
I married my husband, David, in 1979. We have four children: Kristin, 29, who is married and living in Santa Clara , CA. where both she and her husband are attorneys; Chris, 27, a physician who just graduated from UCLA Medical School and is starting his residency; Courtney, 23, who just graduated from Unive...Expand for more
rsity of Oregon with a degree in International Studies; and Kevin, 21, who is a Junior at Portland State University and a member of the nationally ranked lacrosse team.
We live in Happy Valley, which is a suburb of Portland with our golden retriever, Lucky, and two of Courtney's cats!
Because I worked full time and all the kids did sports, they grew up on grilled cheese, pizza or Costco dinners. I've recently got into baking and a bit more involved cooking and would love to trade recipes if anyone has good ones. I love to travel and will be headed to Costa Rica this spring and Fiji in late summer. if you've been to either, let me know what I need to put on my must see list.
