Karen's Story
Hello DHS class of 1975!!! A lot has happened with me over the past 35years. After graduating from Dover High, I attended Delaware State College majoring in Chemistry. I decided to continue my studies and go on to medical school. Because of the cost of medical school, I joined the National Health Service Corp and went on to attend UMDNJ-Rutgers Medical School and graduated in 1985. After completing residency in Family Medicine, it was time for me to pay back my debt by serving in a medically underserved area.

so many wonderful people who had very little in material possesions, but were genuinely good people who offered me so much more than I could ever give to them. They appreciated whatever help they were given and they gave back so much more. I still consider them my friends and family and stay in touch with them. This is also where I met my husband and we married in 1991. I relocated to Charlotte, NC 1992 where he lived and we still reside. I am the proud Mom of two beautiful girls, age 17 and 15 and continue to work in medicine, a career that I love.
During high school, I was painfully shy, but needless to say, that is no longer an issue for me. God has been so good to me over the years and He continues to bless me.
