Karen's Story

Life I have raised 2 girls and a boy and now have 4 grandaughters. I just retired May 21st 2009. I love to paint pictures and write poems. I have been single for quite some time and meet each day as a joyful opportunity to do or learn something new. At the moment, I have completed the board certified course in neuro-linguistic programming, time line therapy and certified life coach. I have completed my Reiki master and I am currently writting the Level I course to start to teach in March 2010. Very interesting new way of living. I love sunrise and sunsets, rainy days for reading a great book and the power of thunderstorms. I am living in Keswick and love walking by the lake. School Mr. Steel inspired me as I felt if he could make history interesting he had a talent for being a great teacher. He will be missed! I would do it all over again for sure but would have taken the academic courses not commercial. Funniest... going to my first prom and having my brother cut in on "every" guy that ask me to dance. Talk about over protective... at 75 he hasn't changed! Craziest... Miss Harvey .. one yr of horrible teaching... we learned more about the dogs she had than...Expand for more
the subject she taught and we all passed! Little did we know then that those were some of our best years. I loved art and have become an avid painter in my spare time. College My college days were "nights" I completed my computer science through Seneca College night courses, while living on my own with 3 children. Long nights and even longer days but somehow it didn't seem all that bad at the time. Now I have to ask myself... how did I ever do that. I have since taken many courses over the years and just love the challenge of learning new things. Workplace My career started out in computers (card machines!) progressed to becoming an IT manager for a time, then looking for a change I migrated to software analyst which led to implementing integrated software packages and finally to the logistics software. I have done some traveling to other branches of the company to train materials department. I loved my time in Mississippi. I have a pic of a very special place there that I loved to spend some quiet time. Now that I am retired I look forward to having the time to take my art/painting to a new level as well as run my own business; Lotus Healing Arts

That would have been about 1948 so don't think I would be dressed like that!
