Karen's Story
I have been married to David for 38 years. We have four children; Sons that are 32 and 29 and twin daughters that are 18. The girls just graduated from REV and are now at the University of Redlands. The boys graduated from Redlands High School. Our 29 year old's class was the last graduating class from Redlands High School before the school divided with Redlands East Valley. -- So, for the first time in 32 years, my husband and I are childless. We are officially 'empty nesters'. -- I was an elementary school secretary for 8 years then stayed home to raise our children. -- I have gone back to school taking computer classes, in preparation, to go back to work full-time. 1970. -- A big plus for me is that my brother, Butch Edge, class of '71, moved back from Texas a few years ago and we have had great fun together. He has a 4 and 10 year old so I have gotten to play auntie and it has been great fun. -- We lived in Orange County for 6 years, then bought a 1910 Heritage Home in Redlands. We lived there for 22 years. -- I faithfully read The Daily Facts looking for familiar names and faces of classmates, their children possibly, teachers and things that happen at RHS. Some of my children even had a couple of teachers that I had. WOW! -- I would really like to hear from Ruth Van Grouw, Margie Stuursma and Liz Van Aiken. We did many things together our senior year and 3 out of the 4 of us eventually married the guys we were dating our senior year. We had many good memories together that year. I would also like to hear from Connie Romo Stein and Franci Wunderlich.
