Life
I remember that in senior year I projected that I would be curator of reptiles at Lincoln Park Zoo. Self-realization came in college -- UIC -- when I joined the staff of the school paper and changed my major from biology to English. (My parents were not amused.) in 1988. For the record, I still have turtles -- lots o' turtles, including one that I had in high school. I've written one book -- Shedd's history -- and am in the throes of another on the ultralight-led reintroduction of whooping cranes in eastern North America. I also occasionally write for a number of environmental newsletters and magazines, including Chicago Wilderness magazine.
